TEM Monitors Office to Office Calling

We recently were notified by a customer that they were going to switch carriers based on a feature available from a proposing T1 provider.  The carrier was offering free calling between the customer’s 7 offices.  The customer saw this as a chance to make a big impact on their monthly telecom spend.  They estimated that they would save a few thousand dollars a month and were willing to pay the lofty set-up and installation fees to get this feature.  Prior to signing up for a long term contract and paying these fees, they asked us if we could produce a report of their office to office calling charges.  We went into our web portal and turned on the report that gives this information for all offices.  Office to office calls totaled less than $45.00 a month.  This is what this simple TEM report did for them:

  • Avoided signing a long term agreement with a carrier that they had never worked with before
  • Avoided paying the up front charges to implement this feature.  These charges were justified by the $2,000.00 a month savings.  One problem: THERE WAS NO $2,000.00 to save
  • Avoided installing 7 new T1 circuits.
